The primary chords for any major key are the I, IV, and V chords of its corresponding major scale. For G Major the primary chords are: G, C, D, and D7.

The primary chords for this key are are the three major chords, the I , IV , and V chords and the 4-part V chords. Additionally, the 4-part V chord, is also considered a primary chord in a major key. These chords form the foundation of chord progressions and harmonies in any major key.
