My Personal Recommendations
I use the Evidence Audio Lyric HG instrument cable as well as an Analysis Plus cables. Two very high end cables that deliver the true sound of your ukulele and/or guitar.
I've had several Klotz and Planet Wave cables around the studio but the Evidence Lyric HG and Analysis Plus are my first choices for performance.
You might notice that there are not a lot of cables listed on this page. I've only shown high quality cables that I have and do use or come highly recommended by fellow musicians.
Why Spend So Much for an Instrument Cable?
You’ve spent a good bit of money on a quality instrument and amplifier. So why go cheap on one of the main links in the your sound chain.
You will be amazed at what a difference a good instrument cable can do. I thought it didn't make a difference – but it does. On this page are listed quality instrument cables and they do make a difference. There is a line from one of the cable companies that sums it up. "If you can't hear the difference you don't need it."
For higher-end, quality cables I recommend Analysis Plus, Evidence Audio or Mogami. I also recommend more affordable cables from Klotz, Monster, and Planet Waves, I use these in the teaching studios and the Funky Frets Music Store for customers to try out gear.
In 1994, Howard and Robert Silagy started a small guitar strap company in Hicksville, N.Y. Their approach to business was simple: make attractive, durable straps using high-quality materials and people will buy them. Over the next four years, the company grew, with sales skyrocketing because of the growing popularity of Planet Waves colorful, attractive designs and the line's thick, heavy-duty leather tabs.
Zaolla Silverline is the leading innovator of cable designs for the musical instrument and pro audio industries. From solid-silver conductors for digital audio and video interconnects to unique hybrid conductors for instrument and microphone cables, Zaolla Silverline tailors each design to its specific application.
Analysis Plus, Inc. has provided electronic and electromagnetic simulation and analysis for a host of companies since its inception in 1993. All the members of our team hold advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering or Physics, and our specialty is the art of computer simulation. We are experts in the use of Saber, Matlab, Ansoft, and Spice, among other tools, as well as in the testing and measurement of physical devices.
Mogami has always had a relentless devotion to quality, integrity and ethical business practices. Every foot of Mogami cable is made in Nagano, Japan under the direct supervision of the company founder who continues to work every day. Comprised of true craftsmen, Mogami refuses to compromise quality for cost savings, and never copies the work of others. In today’s global economy, it’s often difficult to track who really makes a branded cable or other products.

Just browsing over both books, they look fantastic! I'm a guitarist and uke player for over 25 years and was thinking about writing a ukulele book but you've already written what I think are the best, most comprehensive and thorough books I've ever seen for the instrument. I just might end up buying every book you've written and I'll be giving my highest recommendation for your books to my friends and students. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such great books! — Peter Rhee
