The starting point for our modern company was the crafting of guitars along classical Spanish lines. Today we have taken traditional guitar-making to new levels, developing instruments that are tailored listening to our customers’ requirements. And in doing so we use all our senses – listening to them, fingering them, gauging their shape and colour. The results can be found in every single instrument we make – which you have helped to create! Connecting all these things together allows us to on pulse of time.
Ukuleles have been part of our extensive classic range since 2008 with our RU10 and RU11 models. Both of these instruments quickly became very popular.Over the years the status of ukuleles changed from being a "side"-instrument or known as a cheep toy to be a professional instrument, established; at home nearly on every stage. Since we started to make ukuleles, Ortega focused on making high quality instruments for the needs of every musician. In 2009 we upgraded our ukulele program developing the RUE series made with flamed mahogany and a plug-in pickup. 2011 is the year the LIZARD series will follow as a highlight so far. Built with help of most modern technology we also love to use lasers from time to time. Special designed preamps and pickups made by German icon Shadow completes our high needs. And....of course our weakness for Croco-designed cases continues with the LIZARD series; INCLUDING ! 2012 - make new friends! With our new "FRIENDS" (RFU) series you can make new friends starting already NOVEMBER 2011.
