Handcrafted Ukuleles By B. Scott Simon, Luthier

Located in the beautiful Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, Undermountain produces meticulously handcrafted and expertly finished ukuleles and guitars in both exotic and locally sourced tonewoods. Each instrument is individually built using traditional techniques, fine components and high-quality materials. And the luthier hand-voices each instrument to accentuate the individual characteristics and unique tonal qualities of the wood.

Each ukulele is individually built and hand-finished using traditional luthier techniques, the finest components and high-quality materials. We customize each instrument to produce sound reflecting the unique character and tonal qualities of the wood.

Undermountain is owned and operated by B. Scott Simon, a member of the Guild of American Luthiers, the Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans, the Ukulele Guild of Hawaii, and the Berkshire Woodworkers Guild. Brad has been fortunate to study with master guitar-makers Sergei De Jonge, Robbie O’Brien, Charles Fox, and Scott Hausmann (at the Whetstone School of Lutherie).
