Colorado School of Ukulele
Growing up in Hawaii, Stuart Yoshida started playing guitar in 1975. In college he studied Mechanical Engineering and also took time to learn music theory. After moving to Colorado, Stuart began performing as a professional musician starting in 1990. While visiting the Big Island in 1999, he commissioned a custom made ukulele from David Gomes. Ever since then, he has been polishing his skills and teaching about the famous “dancing flea.” Stuart uses his background as a Six Sigma Process Black Belt to give his students the best possible musical experience. He is one of the finest ukulele players in the state.
Denver Uke Community
The Denver Uke Community has been bringing Ukemaniacs together since 2005, We meet each month on the third Saturday at Swallow Hill Music Association at 10:30am. We have members of a variety of skill levels from beginner to “Wow that person ROCKS the Ukulele”, we also play a wide range of music, from country, tin pan alley, Hawaiian and of course whatever YOU bring to share with us. We cannot wait to see you this month!!
Denver Uke Fest - Shallow Hill
Swallow Hill Music Association is pleased to present a unique festival for uke lovers. This one-day event will give participants a lot of bang for their buck. There will be morning and afternoon ukulele workshops, jamming and open stages in the café, ukulele builders and vendors, and an evening concert in Daniels Hall.

Stuart Yoshida
Stuart Yoshida – Stuart was born in Honolulu and grew up listening to local Hawaiian artists and learning ukulele and guitar at a young age. But Rock and Roll pulled him in different musical directions after leaving Hawaii, and he concentrated on playing his guitar for the next 25 years. While visiting the Big Island in 1999, he commissioned a custom made ukulele from David Gomes. Ever since then, he has been polishing his skills on the famous ‘Dancing Flea.’ Stuart is founder of the <a href="http://ooktown.com" target="_blank">Colorado School of Ukulele</a>. He is one of the finest ukulele players in the state.
