A4-Letter Reference

The A Series was adopted in Europe in the 19th century, and is currently used all around the world, apart from in the USA and Canada.

NOTE: Printing A4 to US Letter Size: As the sizes are relatively close, simple select Scale to Fit and the A4 size will print out fine.

Finally learn the names of the notes of the fingerboard. Learning the notes of your own instrument allows you the flexibility of not having to remember so many shapes. There are way too many chord, scale and notes patterns to remember all the shapes. It all comes down the the notes.

Beyond knowing the names of the open strings most players find it hard to learn the whole fingerboard. You need to know the names of the notes like it’s second nature - just being able to figure them out is too slow.

If your goal is to finally learn the names of the notes on the fingerboard. Then the ”Learning the Fingerboard” series of books is your answer. Each book in the series has a step by step approach to finally mastering the fingerboard.

This is the same tuning that is used in the Kala UBass and instruments based on the original Road Toad bass created by Owen Holt and licensed by Kala.

A little trivia: THe U in UBass is for Upton, the family name, named after Mike Upton the founder of Kala.
