The Aeolian or Natural Minor Scale

The Aeolian scale has become the most common minor scale used in contemporary music. Examples are Kurt Cobain and Phil Collins.

The Aeolian scale consists of the following intervals (based on a major scale) Root, 2, b3, 4, 5, b6, b7 and octave.

The following chord progressions use the chords of A Aeolian. The A Aeolian scale consisting of the notes A B C D E F G A' can be used to solo over each progression.
