Listing Info

from the Hohner, Inc. web site

Since 1857, HOHNER has been crafting the highest quality musical instruments in the World. We make harmonicas, accordions, melodicas, recorders, guitars and ukuleles to name a few. The German Harmonica and Accordion Museum in Trossingen, which houses the famous HOHNER collection, is quite simply unique and tells the HOHNER history like no one else. More than 25000 different harmonicas, lovingly preserved by curator Martin Häffner, make up the largest single collection on the world.

Hohner Inc. is located in Glen Allen, VA., 9 miles north of the city of Richmond which is part of the Piedmont region of Virginia. Hohner Inc. operates out of a 55,000 square foot office and warehouse facility. Approximately 50 employees engage in sales, marketing, and fulfillment activities aimed at promoting HOHNER and SONOR products throughout the USA and Canada, generating approximately $30 million in annual sales.

But the museum doesn't only exhibit musical instruments, it also shows rare films, recordings, sales displays, advertising posters and much more. The exciting story of Matthias HOHNER, his rise to fortune and the assimilation of his numerous competitors is all documented in the main museum building. Special exhibitions are shown in the new premises a short distance away in Bau V, a huge former factory building on the original HOHNER factory site.

Just browsing over both books, they look fantastic! I'm a guitarist and uke player for over 25 years and was thinking about writing a ukulele book but you've already written what I think are the best, most comprehensive and thorough books I've ever seen for the instrument. I just might end up buying every book you've written and I'll be giving my highest recommendation for your books to my friends and students. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such great books!Peter Rhee
