`Ukulele • Piano Comparison
Piano has is so much easier when it comes to learning the names of the notes (the keys) of the keyboard. The standard piano keyboard is color coded. With the white keys being one of the seven letters of the musical alphabet A B C D E F G and the black keys either sharp or flat notes depending on the direction and/or key, scale, melody, or tonality.

Ukulele — even if the ukulele fingerboard was color coded black and white inlays, it would not be of much help as the repeating pattern is not as obvious as the piano. And,ou can return a ukulele to a different tuning. So unless you can move the inlays it's not a good idea. For a guitarist and bassist just learning or teachers yo can use one of these guitars or basses from Fretlight Wireless.
However, there are a few frets that can be memorized before the others. These are the frets and the open strings that only use one of the seven natural letters A B C D E F G — the white keys. The two frets, in addition to the open strings: are frets five (5) and seven (7).
And, you can get the next higher frets for free for 50% of the fingerboard memorized — you're half way there.
