Bag End Boys Musicians

“The Bag End Boys write contemporary pop songs that feature melodies that sometimes swirl in neat, unexpected ways. They can also cut a fine cover version of the Beatles classic, "The Word." Most amazing is how two ukes and two voices can sound so full! Further proof that the ukulele can rock and pop like its six string relative.” – Jim Beloff, Flea Market Music

Pops Bayless Musicians

Pops Bayless brings over three decades of performing experience to the stage. He is an original member of The Asylum Street Spankers and the founder of the Shorty Long Band. His Off-Broadway musical comedy review, AMERICAN NOVELTY, premiered at the Theatre for the New City in Manhattan, NYC, April of 2006. Pops’ original music can be heard in various film and television projects including MTV’s AUSTIN STORIES and the film NO VACANCY. As an accomplished teacher, Pops has presented a myriad of uke-based workshops at different schools and fests across the country including the Augusta Heritage Center, Blue Stone Folk School, Midwest Ukulele Festival, Ukulele Expo, Hill Country Acoustic Music Camp and the Lone Star Uke Fest.

Azo Bell Musicians

“Aussie Azo Bell is one of the best uke players of the new-uke generation.  Along with band mates Billy Milroy on single string bass and Tim Reeves on snare drum, Azo shows off some amazing single note picking and strumming that are one part vaudeville, and one part modern jazz.  Includes many standards Rag Mop, Foggy Day In London Town, Misty, and a slew of originals including the instant uke classic Spider Walk.  Serious chops mixed with a wicked sense of humor.” - - Jim Beloff (Review of ‘Lost In Spice’ CD), Flea Market Music, California.

Jim Beloff Musicians

Songwriting has always been a passion for Jim Beloff. With a concentration in musical theater at Hampshire College, he wrote, primarily on guitar, a number of musical revues and a full length musical. During his junior year he was a production assistant for Leonard Bernstein on the musical, “1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” which Bernstein wrote with Alan Jay Lerner. Despite the fact that the show closed on Broadway after a short time, Jim found it to be a valuable learning experience.

Bliss Blood Musicians

THE MOONLIGHTERS have been a part of the New York City jazz and pop music scenes since they formed in 1998. Based around a core of harmonized vocal duets backed by warm acoustic instruments including Hawaiian lap steel guitar, ukulele, guitar and bass, they explore traditional and classic tunes with a unique, romantic approach that is appealing to listeners of all ages.

Bookem Danno Musicians

**Book `em Danno **are: Stuart Yoshida, Chris Kennison, Wes Melander and Dean Cilli.

Bosko And Honey Musicians

Don’t be fooled by Bosko and Honey’s cute and quirky appearance because they are one of the most original and entertaining ukulele acts around today. A husband-and-wife duo who reside in the tropical rainforest of Kuranda in Australia’s Far North Queensland, Bosko & Honey joined the global ukulele explosion back in 2005 when Bosko decided to give Honey a ukulele for her birthday… Charming and disarming, their “Ukulele Love-In” show is a truly unique experience. With undertones of cabaret, it is an intimate yet wildly entertaining experience - an engaging blend of musicianship, humour and the (very) unexpected!

Craig Brandau Musicians

After playing the guitar for over 40 years, Craig discovered the ukulele, and has not looked back. Although he enjoys nearly all styles of music, his true passion is creating chord melody arrangements and finds the ukulele to be a perfect fit. Craig’s ukulele idols include Herb Ohta-San, Benny Chong, and Lyle Ritz. However, his single greatest influence is the legendary guitar player and arranger, Howard Heitmeyer.

Bob Brozman Musicians

March 8, 1954 - April 23, 2013 A legend in the world of blues and roots music, who integrated styles from around the world, Brozman was one of the world’s most beloved musical figures. His uniquely bold playing style and banter with the audience gave him the opportunity not just to entertain with his sharp wit, but also challenge core assumptions about the function of rhythm and sound. “Bob is beloved to me, and to so many in so many countries,” says long-time friend and pianist, George Winston. “His legacy will live on and will no doubt become the standard-bearer to musical innovators for decades to come.”

Eddie Bush Musicians

Eddie Bush has shown that the ukulele can be used as a solo instrument for presenting music from the classical, popular, opera and Broadway repertories. An ukulele virtuoso and recording artist who has been on the Hawaiian music scene for over thirty years. Eddie has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and the United States, and has made national appearances on both the Johnny Carson and Mike Douglas television shows. Some of his local appearances includes the Hawaii Calls Radio Broadcast, the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, and major hotels in Hawaii. Eddie is listed in the “Who’s Who’s” of Hawaiian entertainers and is in constant demand as a performer.

Just browsing over both books, they look fantastic! I'm a guitarist and uke player for over 25 years and was thinking about writing a ukulele book but you've already written what I think are the best, most comprehensive and thorough books I've ever seen for the instrument. I just might end up buying every book you've written and I'll be giving my highest recommendation for your books to my friends and students. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such great books!Peter Rhee
